STORY:

Casa Etna is a charming house with traditional Canarian architecture, nestled in a palm grove, reminiscent of a small oasis surrounded by vineyards. From a bird’s eye view, the house is located at the foot of a green mountain, La Breña mountain, on its eastern slope, at the bottom of what could be the original crater of that ancient volcano. On a lower level of the house, a small garden, flanked by twin palms, gives access to the barbecue, converted into a special corner, from where a short and winding path leads to the most prominent and beautiful sides of the estate. There, a hundred meters from the house, a small viewpoint offers views of the sunrise over the ocean in front and towards the west to the peak of La Breña mountain. Rooted in the energy of this space, Casa Etna provides a place where you can feel the natural vibrations, lending itself to the experience of an intense inner life.

The house, completely restored, has wooden ceilings in the Canarian style of “two slopes” and also wooden floors, integrating the old and the modern, faithfully keeping the traditional architecture. It is equipped to offer every comfort: internet TV, Wi-Fi, programmable heating system in bedroom and living room, among others. Surrounded by large terraces and flowered gardens, a small flower bed is dedicated to aromatic plants and food.

A garden with lawn serves as a platform for access to house on the main facade. The central door leads to the living room. This room is presided over by a cupboard built into the wall that serves as a showcase for a small collection of replicas of Aboriginal ceramics and other elements of traditional Canarian handicrafts. A large sofa contributes divides the spaces, leaving aside a corner dominated by a large table next to the window, suitable for writing where your inspiration can take flight, or a romantic corner for dinners where you really should savour a sweet malvasia wine.

Adjacent to the living room, the bedroom is remarkably spacious. The thickness of the load-bearing walls that form the house can be seen in the hollows of the two windows, through which the light accentuates the warmth of the wood that covers all the space. On the opposite side, the bathroom and kitchen are accessed from the living room. The kitchen, modern and functional, has in turn, a door out to the main garden. Breakfast on the lawn under palm trees is a unique experience of Casa Etna.

SITUATION:

The house is located in the eastern part of the island of La Palma (in the Canary Islands), in the district of La Montaña of the municipality of Breña Baja. Nearby there are several approved hiking trails, and lots of possibilities for walking or cycling. The beaches of Cancajos and Bajamar, as well as the capital of the island, Santa Cruz de La Palma, and its beach, are only a ten minute drive away. The vineyards near the accommodation contain vines of black listán, tintilla, and negramol, as well as of sobro, verdello and white listán that are transformed in the nearby Bodega Carlos Fernández.

3.- To avoid unwanted cancellation, please, make sure your payment in advance is done before reservation dead line.

4.- A further cancellation will be charged as follows: · 25% of your payment in advance if the cancellation is done more than 15 days before supposed arrival day. · 50% of your payment in advance if the cancellation is done between 15 and 7 days before supposed arrival day. · 75% of your payment in advance if the cancellation is done from 6 to 4 days before supposed arrival day. · 100% of your payment in advance for cancellating less than 4 days before supposed arrival day. · Clients leaving before departure date have not right to claim any money back.

5.- In case of an arrival of more persons than reserved, without notice, the owner of the house could either refuse the entrance or charge a supplement for extra guests.
